Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the important traditional Chinese festivals, and is also a festival of reunion. Therefore, the Women Committee and Recreational Committee held a Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration at the Association's premises at 6pm on 30 Sep 2017 (i.e. 11th day of the 8th month in Lunar Calendar).

On that day, tent was set up along the URA carpark lots outside the Association's premises, which became the event venue. During the night's celebration, we had food ordered from the buffet caterer, as well as moon cakes and pomelos. In the old days, moon cakes were made in round shape symbolising reunion, while pomelos meant good signs. As such, the Committee included these in the menu. There were singing performances and Karaoke sessions for the clan members and their families, and Mid-Autumn related songs were sung. Clan fellow Kelvin Ong, who came along with his wife and children, said: "We attend the Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration in order to let our five-year-old son and two-year-old daughter experience the traditional chinese festival, and to leave a stronger impression of Mid-Autumn Festival in their minds, so in the future it will be easier for them to understand the chinese culture." The grand finale activity was the children's favourite, where they were invited by the host to go on stage to collect electric lanterns, and carry them for photo taking by their parents. At that moment, the stage became romantic with dim lighting, bringing everyone a wonderful festive night.

At the end of the event, the attendees were presented with goodies bags, and returned home with festive joy and full of blessing.
